He loves all sports: basketball, football, soccer, you name it. Something people would be surprised to know about Coach Beamer I can usually talk him into watching my favorite show FixerUpper, too! I really look forward to catching up with him on the things that have happened throughout the week. We try and have date nights every Thursday, that is the night he comes home early. He will take them swimming in the indoor pool at the hotel and pretty much anything else they want to do! He is a really awesome dad and husband. The girls really love that and they look forward to Fridays! He loves to take the girls on an overnight date to the ACC Basketball tournament. Fridays are the days he can do that, and he’ll take the kids to breakfast before school. If he has a break, he loves to take or pick up our daughters from school. I think Shane would want everyone to know that he is a great dad. Something Coach Beamer would like everyone to know So if I have a question, I usually just ask her!ģ. My seven year old daughter can tell you just about anything you would want to know football and the Hokies. We also like to have his players over to the house for dinner before camp starts.Â
We’ll do other things so we can see him like take him lunch and sometimes dinner after practice so we can eat together as a family. That’s the only way the kids get to see Shane because he goes to work before they wake up and he comes home after they have gone to sleep. We make something every week and if we win I will make it again! We try and go to practice every afternoon. The girls and I love to make Shane's running backs treats every Thursday. People come up to me all the time and ask a question and I’m like "I don’t know? Sorry.” Football is our life and I love being involved as much as I can, but I have three major distractions that keep my focus elsewhere right now. We felt the pressure for the Beamer name to live on with a son. This is the only place my kids remember living. We are going on our fifth season at Virginia Tech.
Our other daughter, Olivia, was born in 2010, the day after our spring game. Our last year at South Carolina we played in the SEC Championship game. He was there for the actual birth, but then he had to head back to work that night for meetings. Shane was in the middle of two-a-days in August so it was not ideal either. We induced early because she was due the weekend of an away game. Sutton was born in 2008, one week before our first game. It was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up and it ended up being a wonderful move for us. I grew up in Starkville and leaving my family and moving 500 miles away was hard. That was exciting and sad all at the same time. We got married that June and we were in Starkville for one season before he got the job at South Carolina. We dated for a year and got engaged that Christmas at the Homestead in Virginia. Shane was in the press box the first game as well, and we noticed each other when he was coming off the elevator. In college, I worked in sports information, and was in the press box on game days. My dad was the State Trooper that traveled with the Mississippi State football team for 16 years. Growing up in a college town, I always loved college football. I majored in Sports Communications and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. I’m from Starkville, Mississippi and went to Mississippi State.
